More Information

Giovanni Pisano Notebook p.[8]. The draft letter on the verso refers to a visit by Moore to Italy to continue work on the Unesco Reclining Figure LH 416. Hodin was writing a book on Moore in the Modern Sculptors series (Zwemmer, London 1958), and had asked him to contribute his thoughts on other sculptors. The letter, which includes references to three works by Rodin which Moore regarded as masterpieces, continues over pages 9 and 10. There is a draft of a letter to J.P. Hodin on the verso.
