The notebook contains signatures of eight pages of off-white glossy medium-weight wove 242 x 180 mm. The cover and many pages are missing; thirty-two pages remain attached of which twelve are drawn on, and three others have been ascribed to the notebook: HMF 1064 and 1065, and HMF 1066 which was given to the Art Gallery of Ontario. All the pages are unsigned and undated. HMF 1053-1061 are drawn from the front of the notebook, HMF 1061a-1063 from the back. The majority of the drawings seem to belong to the early part of the notebook's two-year span.
