This page may mark a transitional stage in Moore's development. The figure in pencil lower left fits comfortably with the two reclining figures on the previous page of the notebook, whilst the other pencil drawings seem to be moving towards a more abstract style. The three sketches in pen and ink are more in keeping with drawings of 1935. It is of course always possible that Moore returned to the early pages of the notebook and added the pen and ink sketches c.1935.
