See comment on HMF 1337. The recto of this page contains both the sketch for Reclining Figure LH 202 and the preliminary idea for HMF 1441, both of 1939, together with vignettes of sculpture, cows and sheep set in huge landscapes, most with very high horizons - one inscribed wide expanse of sky brings to mind seventeenth-century Dutch landscape painters and also Eugène Boudin two centuries later. On the verso is a small sketch, the comment under which refers to HMF 1320, once in the collection of Geoffrey Grigson.
