On the recto, Moore appears to have overdrawn an existing sketch of sculptural ideas dating from around 1937.The sketches on the verso, from the earlier period, were unseen until the drawing was lifted from its original support in late 1984. The list of Moore's correspondents includes collectors and museum directors as well as members of his family.
