This sheet of drawings was detached from the same notebook as that used for HMF 1391a and probably for HMF 1936, the latter having been torn in half whereas the first two were merely folded: see comment on HMF 1337. On the left-hand section here, three physically tiny sketches have a monumental quality, invoking a feeling of immense space especially in the one under which Moore wrote Sculpture in landscape; the other two are entitled Sculpture & figures & architecture and procession in architecture. The drawings on the right-hand section contain the seeds of Moore's Pen exercises of the early 1970s.
