See comment on HMF 1337.  Moore signed and dated this drawing to 1940 although since it is so similar  to the more finished HMF 1452 it has been placed in 1939. Close study of the two drawing reveals many similarities . Many of the reclining figures are variants on sketches which were dated 1938 or 1939 on completion. The figure in the lower right corner is so close to that in the same position in which Moore dated using the pen with which he had been drawing, that the cataloguer believes that the figure in this drawing was the basis for the more finished figure in HMF 1452.
