More Information
verso: pencil offset from HMF418v; numbered 16 l.r. This drawing of a 3rd-century Etruscan figure of a young boy, in the Museo Etrusco Gregoriano in the Vatican, was done from an Alinari photograph which Moore probably bought when he was in Italy. By adding breasts and thickening the hips and thighs, Moore has transformed the boy's figure into that of a woman.
