2011 Hatfield House, Moore at Hatfield
The childhood home of Queen Elizabeth I, Hatfield House is situated 20 miles from London in the Hertfordshire countryside. The gardens at Hatfield provide a harmonious but constantly changing setting for this display of Henry Moore's larger works.
This exhibition of sculptures from the collection of The Henry Moore Foundation, in the year of Hatfield's 400th anniversary celebration, is the first outdoor exhibition in this country of Moore's sculptures since 2007, and his first solo exhibition in the grounds of an English country house. Comprising fourteen bronzes and one large fibreglass piece, the exhibition has been selected by Anita Feldman, Head of collections and Exhibitions at The Henry Moore Foundation, to represent the artist's iconic themes.
