More Information
This exhibition of works by Henry Moore, John Piper and Graham Sutherland was one of the 'Art for the People' series inaugurated by the British Institute of Adult Education, organised for the Council for the Encouragement of Music and the Arts. It comprised a selection of the works exhibited at Temple Newsam in Leeds earlier in 1941 and included 14 sculptures and 24 drawings by Moore, alongside 22 works by Piper and 21 by Sutherland. It has not yet been possible to identify from the catalogue all of the drawings by Moore that were included.
