Brass band and assembled crowds, followed by speech by Chairman and Chief Executive of the Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation, and the unveiling by the Honorary Life President, Tan Chin Tuan. Spectators and photographers are seen with the work after the covers are lifted off by hot air balloons. Concludes with brief views of evening reception.
b) Singapore Broadcasting Corporation Friday Background programme, 1 November 1985. 13 mins.
The unveiling is seen, followed by film of I.M. Pei, the building's architect, who describes the sculpture as the most exciting piece I have ever seen by anyone...the negative space is so fascinating as to give it a scale and dimension in excess of its volume". There is brief film of Moore in his studio and an outline commentary on his themes and love of nature. Views of the Morris Singer Foundry the final preparation of the sculpture and its installation on site. Interviews with members of the public show favourable reactions.
