More Information
Moore had already in 1936 jotted down many ideas for metal sculptures, marking with asterisks or dots those he considered worth developing. For example, the first inspiration for the form extreme lower right might spring from the asterisked form in the second row of HMF 1269 and the figure just below the lengthy inscription on HMF 1271. This drawing in turn is the study for HMF 1321.
