This drawing again recalls the arrangement of maquettes in Moore (Vol.1) 1949, plate 70e, see HMF 1385. As all five of the most prominent figures appear in a very similar position in the photograph, it seems probable that Moore made the drawing from the maquettes. The two figures in the foreground are Reclining Figure 1938 (LH 185) and a clay maquette for the elmwood Head 1938 (LH 188).
