A guide to St. Matthew's Church, Northampton. p.3 mentions Walter Hussey's acquisition of works of modern art for the church, including Moore's Madonna and Child 1943-44 (LH 226). pp.14-15 deals with the Lady Chapel, and mentions that the Madonna and Child is in this part of the church, describing it as perhaps "the finest flowering of his gift". There is a line drawing of the work, and a mention of a separate leaflet which deals specifically with the work.
