Disbanded sketchbook of cream medium-weight wove 292 x 240mm to which 47 drawings have been ascribed. Some of the pages are trimmed. Those from the earlier signatures are numbered in pencil lower left on the verso; the numbers are given where identified, although no reconstruction has been possible. It is known that the sketchbook was taken apart almost immediately, since certain pages were included in exhibitions during 1962. The roman numerals given to the drawings in the Marlborough Fine Art, London, catalogue of September 1962 and in subsequent publications have not been retained here as they bear no relation to the sketchbook page numbers.
