Partially disbanded notebook of 190 pages of cream lightweight wove paper 136 x 106mm perforated 18mm from the top, with a front endpaper of cream medium-weight wove paper stapled within brown marbled paper-covered boards of the same size; the front is inscribed in pencil upper left MARY 661. (The name refers to Moore's sister who had given him some notebooks in late 1940). The pages are unsigned and unnumbered. The inside front board, endpaper and two pages with written suggestions for Shelter drawings plus 142 blank pages remain attached. HMF 1739, 1739a and 1740 came from this notebook; HMF 1755-1758a are thought to have done so. See comment on HMF 1739.
