Published as a book in English and French editions in hardback and softback. There are deluxe and standard copies of the hardback editions in both languages. The hardback editions contain forty-two reproductions in colour and black and white of Mother and Child etchings CGM 671-712, with a description of each print and a selection of quotations by the artist. There is a preface by David Mitchinson, comments by Alex Rosenberg, an introduction by Gail Gelburd and a selected bibliography. The deluxe copies contain CGM 712. The softback editions contain thirty reproductions in colour and black and white of CGM 671-700 with corresponding text material.
280 x 225mm: Hardback copies have 112 numbered pages in seven signatures of 16 bound in red linen-covered boards with CGM 673 blocked in black on the front and the title on the spine, in a laminated paper dust jacket with a reproduction of CGM 673 on the front and the title on the spine. The deluxe edition has CGM 712 printed on Barcham Green Croxley 270 x 216mm, contained in a paper folder inserted between the front endpapers within a red linen-covered slipcase. Softback copies have 84 numbered pages in five signatures of 16 and one signature of 4 bound in a laminated card cover with a reproduction of CGM 673 on the front and the title on the spine.
The hardback edition of 1000 copies, numbered on p.111, comprises:
750 copies in English numbered 1 to 750 of which the first 75 contain CGM 712 numbered 1/75 to 75/75
250 copies in French numbered I to CCL of which the first 25 contain CGM 712 numbered I/XXV to XXV/XXV
All the prints are signed in pencil by the artist and embossed with the printer's blind stamp.
The softback edition of 5000 copies is unnumbered; there are 3000 in English and 2000 in French.
