This event was part of "UK-Japan 2008", a year-long project by the British Embassy in Tokyo and the British Council to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and the United Kingdom.

The exhibition featured works by Boyle Family, John Constable, Andy Goldsworthy, Anthony Green, Mona Hatoum, David Hockney, Bernard Leach, Henry Moore, David Nash, Ben Nicholson, J M W Turner and Charles Wirgman.
