The two standing figures upper left are curiously reminiscent of Jan van Eyck's Arnolfini Marriage Group (National Gallery, London). The scene is lit through a window at left; two centrally placed figures stand in front of something resembling the canopy of a four-poster bed. Over forty years later Moore returned to the subject in HMF 81(221). See comment on HMF 1337.
