The main figure here, as in HMF 987, is set apart from the smaller surrounding figures by being enclosed in a roughly oval form reminiscent of the entrance to a cave. Moore used this motif again in drawings of 1933 and 1934 and also in the late 1970s. An inscription at lower left has been heavily crossed out.
