The reference on the recto to 'a sunny winter day', followed by a heading on the verso 'Art Burcroft' the cottage in Kent which the Moores bought in August 1935), emphasises the difficulty of assigning a precise date to this notebook. Comments on photographs 7-10 seem to relate to Reclining Figure 1934 LH 141, whilst those on photographs 8-12, plus the first photograph taken on the Saturday, appear to concern Two Forms 1934 LH 146. The last entry on page 8 - 'Head with Lines' - may refer to Sculpture 1934 LH 145 or to Carving 1934 LH 147 which was later destroyed.
