The words 'Mrs Ventris Wonderstone' on the verso may refer to Reclining Figure 1934 LH 141, carved in African Wonderstone. Lois Ventris began collecting Moore's works in the mid-1930s. The sculptures referred to are Head and Ball 1934 (LH 151) and Relief 1932 LH 118 (the latter destroyed).
