More InformationNotebook No.4 p.170. The drawing on the recto is a forerunner of Moore's monumental nudes of the late 1920s. He told Wilkinson, 'I was attempting to make a simplified life figure and was influenced by Picasso's big shortened figures.' In his later years he did many sketches and a series of etchings of trees.
