More Information
Sketchbook pages were Moore's library of forms which he used much as Renaissance artists had done. See also  comment on HMF 1337. The third sketch down in the left-hand column reappears with slight variations in HMF 1452 as the foreground figure at centre left, having already been included as a small sketch in HMF 1451. It is also interesting to refer to HMF 1310 where the reclining figure third from the top in the right-hand column is echoed in the third figure down at the extreme right of this drawing.
