Two pieces of blotting paper have been joined together with butterfly tapes on the verso. Moore then 'connected' the two pieces with strokes of a felt-tipped pen, and the drawing was used for the endpapers of a book by Sacheverell Sitwell, see HMF 79(42) and 79(43).
