More Information
Notebook No.6 p.48 (originally p.52). Moore loved the circus, and particularly enjoyed watching acrobats and contortionists. In 1975 he made two etchings CGM 413 and 414 based on these sketches, to accompany the deluxe facsimile of this notebook. The drawing on the verso is obscured by offset chalk; the head, outlines of the breasts, waist and arms probably comprise the original drawing.  Further related works: CGM 369, 413, 414.
