More Information
Notebook No.4 p.[189]. The tutors at the Royal College of Art required evidence of copying from Old Masters. The list on the recto contains the names of some artists whose works Moore had decided to copy. Pisanello and Baldovinetti come as a surprise since Moore was already developing his 'monumental' vision and style of drawing. The male nudes on the verso may be studies of men boxing.
