This circular drawing may have been intended as a design for a plate. Moore was still, in 1920, a member of the Castleford Peasant Pottery Group, founded by Alice Gostick in 1917. Both Gostick and Albert Wainwright, also a member of the group, added lettering to the designs on their pottery. Very few pieces of Moore's pottery survive though there are some in private collections and an example in the City Art Gallery, Leeds (see related work).
