More Information

Notebook No.2 p.93. The two drawings at centre right are sketches for Animal Head 1922 (LH 1a). The two small sketches of a reclining figure lower right suggest that Moore visited the Musée du Trocadero (now Musée de l 'Homme) in Paris and saw there the plaster cast of the Toltec-Maya temple guardian, Chac Mool. The image was to resurface in 1928 in the Leeds Reclining Figure (LH 59). Wilkinson deals fully with the list of subjects for drawings and sculpture. There is a list of subjects for drawings and sculpture on the verso.
