More Information
Moore drew Shakespeare's 'Seven Ages of Man', as described in Jaques' speech in Act II, scene vii of As You Like It, for a portfolio of lithographs published in 1982. He did the title page for the portfolio at the back of Sketchbook 1982-83, see HMF 82(129a). The knee-length short trousers and the satchel with its two straps must surely be echoes of Moore's memories of his own schooldays.
