This large group show was the first exhibition of the Young Painters' Society at the New Burlington Galleries, London, held between 17th March and 7th April 1930. Moore's Reclining Woman 1928 (cat. 346), Hornton stone (now at Leeds Art Gallery) was a highlight, on sale in the show for £200 (around £11,600 today). The sculpture was pictured and commented upon in a number of prominent press articles, which also praised the works of Moore's counterparts, Barbara Hepworth and John Skeaping. Moore also showed a second work, Reclining Figure (cat. 323) that has not been identified. Other notable artists in the show included Augustus John, Vanessa Bell, Eric Gill, Jacob Epstein, John Piper, Robert Medley, Christopher Wood, Walter Sickert and James Boswell, as well as Moore's close friends, Raymond Coxon, Edna Ginesi and Evelyn Kendall.
