The foreword by Stanley Wells General Editor The Oxford Shakespeare introduces the play and suggests a spiritual kinship between Moore and Shakespeare. "Henry Moore's art like Shakespeare's has a mythical quality".
John Gielgud recalls his performances of Hamlet and is happy to be associated with the collaboration between Delfino and Henry Moore.
Editorial notes in Italian at the end of the volume on pages 103 and 105 suggest that a total of 1200 copies were produced "numbered from 1 to 1200 21 ad personam" with 350 copies lettered from A to Z. The copy in the Henry Moore Foundation library is a "special copy dedicated to Dr. Stanley Wells".
