FUKUNAGA Osamu. Henry Moore in Japan.
(The Moore exhibitions held in Japan and the significance of this current exhibition. The main section of the text examines any influences that Moore might have absorbed from Japan but concludes that it would be impossible to establish any significant link with his art. Instead examines the common ground that can be perceived in Moore's work and the traditional art of Japan particularly the use of natural forms. The similarity is however superficial. In Moore's use there is a much more conscious re-working and adaption of natural forms rather than a simple imitation of nature.
Final section comments on works acquired by the Hiroshima Museum.
Japanese title as cited in English: Henry Moore: the creation of original landscapes seen through his own and collected works."
