With the War Drawings "the shade of classicism makes itself felt a little more than before...their poses are more than occasionally reminiscent of Classical temple sculpture...classical imagery became for him standard against which he could better see the contemporary condition". Discusses the impact of his visit to Greece and his use of Drapery in post-war bronzes.
