"First comprehensive monograph" on Simon STARLING.

Interview with MANACORDA discusses Starling's Project for a Masquerade (Hiroshima) 2010-11, which among other things tells the story of Moore's work Nuclear Energy 1967. Interview also mentions Starling's Silver Particle/Bronze after Henry Moore (2008), based on an old photograph of a Moore sculpture; the final work "looks like the biomorphic shapes that Henry Moore was interested in". Discusses Moore as a recurring character in Starling's work, mentioning Starling's use of Warrior with Shield in Infestation Piece (Musselled Moore).

ROELSTRAETE's "Survey" discusses (p.66) the central position of Moore along with Constantin Brancusi in Starling's "art-about-art". pp.68-77 discuss in more depth Starling's engagement with Moore's works, looking in particular at Project for a Masquerade and Infestation Piece (both illus.). Also illustrated is Reclining Figure No.4, along with Silver Particle/Bronze after Henry Moore.

p.132: photograph of Moore's Half-Figure 1932, installed as part of Starling's exhibition Never the Same River (Possible Futures, Probable Pasts) at the Camden Arts Centre in 2011.
