0023540 Art as Therapy Phaidon London and New York A book that sets out to introduce 'a new method of interpreting art: art as a form of therapy, providing powerful solutions to many of life's problems.' On page 233, within the chapter 'How do we get to be a bit more like this?', there is a whole page image of Moore's Family Group 1948-9 (LH 269) with an accompanying few lines of text on page 232 about how moving it is to encounter this piece evoking ordinary, close co-operative family in the Botanical Garden in Brooklyn; noting that Moore was astonishingly adept at shaping bronze but the specialist programmes in adolescent education held nearby at City University, New York, are more precisely devoted to making real the hopes that the artist alludes to.
