The details of the print run of 1550 copies are given in English, There are short statements from Stanley Wells and John Gielgud in English and Italian. The Wells text reads:The ten, late drawings by Henry Moore reproduced in this splendid volume demonstrate a previously unsuspected spiritual kinship between one of the greatest visual artists of the twentieth century and the enduring genius of Skakespeare. Henry Moore's art, like Shakespeare's has a mythical quality. Shunning literalism, it reaches deep into the collective unconscious to create timelessly moving images. The juxtaposition of his drawings with the text of Hamlet shows that besides tapping the well-springs of his own creativity, they also reach towards the heart of the mystery that Shakespeare articulates in both Hamlet himself and the tragic world in which he has his being.
