Description: Perfection and Destruction" exhibits artwork from 1936-38 divided into ten themes displaying over 400 works from almost 200 artists. The show looks to the 1937 travelling exhibition "Entartete Kunst" (Degenerate Art) which opened in Munich the National Socialists' campaign against Modernism and the Guernica bombing. Exhibits begin with work by facist painters supported by Hitler moving through sculpture and photography towards works of constructivism. Moore content: page 318-321 five Moore illus. Accompanying text on page 318 gives outline of Moore's early influences as well as giving details of his political interests against Fascism with pro Communist ideas. Mentions he was a member of Artists Against Fascism Artists International Association his alignment with Unit One and the Surrealists. The text also notes that Moore protests against Chamberlain's non-intervention with the Spanish Civil War. Brief mention of Moore on page 488 in connection with Barbara Hepworth.
