Description: Sixth in a series of articles on international art. The writer is Professor Emeritus at the University of Osaka. Includes a large colour photograph of Large Spindle Piece, 1968 and 1974 bronze. Moore's use of primitive art as a symbol of the need to restore the primacy of images over words in civilised society. The values enshrined in primitive art, quoting Moore's views on the subject. Moore's organic construction means that the sculpture has its own life. This is truly biomorphic, almost as if symbolising the primitive form of the life of the universe, and why his works should be seen in a natural environment. We need to re-learn the vocabulary of images in a world obfuscated in a net of words.
Title romanized: Imeji fukken ni okina shisa.
