Description: Kitakyushu Municipal Art Museum newsletter article on Elephant Skull and Stonehenge series. The Elephant Skull prints emphasise the internal approach to the skull, and are compared to Gaston Bachelard's dialectical perception of the internal/external polarity of existence. They convey a deep symbolic understanding of life, and relate to Moore's observations of nature and interpretations of reality. The Stonehenge prints focus on light and dark, and are influenced by Seurat. Incorporates quotations from Moore on the attraction of Stonehenge. While Elephant Skull prints reveal interpretations of nature, Stonehenge series conveys the direct force of ancient art.
Title romanized: Henri Muua no hanga.
