Description: Feature reappraising George Hoellering (1897 - 1980) film Murder in the Cathedral and documentaries. Reference to Hoellering's 1950 documentary, Shapes and Forms on contemporary art. It followed the ICA exhibition 40,000 Years of Modern Art 1948-49, which included set works of primitive cultures - masks, figures and objects - from all around the world with the work of modernists including Henry Moore, Picasso, Modigliani and Alexander Calder. The 12 minute black and white film, shot in the basement of Hoellering's Academy Cinema, is wordless. The music score was produced by Lajtha, a notable piece of contemporary music in itself.
