More Information
part of letter The verso bears the draft of a letter in Moore's hand to someone of unknown identity who had recently bought one of his sculptures. Moore's reference to the fact that he was teaching at 'Chelsea Polytechnic', a post he took up in the autumn of 1931, indicates either that these sketches date to that year, or that Moore wrote the draft letter on the back of drawings made the year previously. It is unusual for him to use his Christian name when signing work.
