On the recto, Moore appears to have overdrawn an existing sketch of sculptural ideas dating from around 1937.The sketches on the verso seem to be from the earlier period, and were unseen until the drawing was lifted from its original support in late 1984. The list of Moore's correspondents includes collectors, museum directors and members of his family.
