A faint signature and date, almost certainly contemporaneous with the drawing, may be discerned under the left forearm of the reclining figure. The pair of reclining figures at upper left look forward to drawings of the late 1970s. Elizabeth Raikes was one of Moore's students at the Royal College of Art.
