numbered 1 with half circle u.r. corner The sculptor Leon Underwood (see inscription on verso) was one of Moore's tutors at the Royal College of Art. Underwood was particularly interested in drawing from life, and for a brief period in 1923-24 some of his and Moore's life drawings were remarkably similar.
