More Information

Body & Void: Echoes of Moore in Contemporary Art is our most diverse exhibition to date. This ground-breaking show draws connections between Moore's investigation of internal space and its relationship with the human body, and reveals how his ideas have been taken in new directions by subsequent generations of artists.

Featuring some of the most recognisable names in contemporary art, including Damien Hirst, Rachel Whiteread, Antony Gormley, Body & Void presents current interpretations of some of Moore's central themes - Mother and child, Internal and External forms and Figure in a Landscape. The show presents an alternative trajectory for contemporary art contrasting with the historically accepted view of the post-war Avant Garde.

New, site-specific works by leading artists Richard Deacon and Richard Long have been commissioned as part of the exhibition.

Occupying the Sheep Field Barn gallery and Moore's original carving studio as well as setting work against the verdant backdrop of the sculpture gardens and sheep fields, Body & Void is open until 26 October 2014.

Body and Void features work by Joseph Beuys, Keith Coventry, Tony Cragg, Richard Deacon, Antony Gormley, Roger Hiorns, Damien Hirst, Des Hughes, Anish Kapoor, Richard Long, Sarah Lucas, Paul McDevitt, Bruce McLean, Bruce Nauman, Paul Noble, Thomas Schütte, Simon Starling and Rachel Whiteread
