Monograph on the influence of prehistory and prehistoric art on the work of Henry Moore. The book is titled after the paleolithic Venus figurines which Moore sketched in Notebook No.6, but discusses more broadly Moore's works which draw on prehistoric artworks, and the places he would have come into contact with these prehistoric sources (especially the British Museum, and the book Die Kunst der Primitiven).
