More InformationContinuation of the chronological analysis from the interrupton of sculptural activity in 1940 to the Northampton Madonna and Child, 1943-1944 Hornton stone, and Moore's attitude to religion. A fifth phase is identified as being more naturalistic than the concave-ridden" works of the pre-war period. The derivation of the Reclining Figures Family Groups and Three Standing Figures 1947-1948 Darley Dale stone are traced through earlier phases of Moore's work onto a possibly evolving sixth period. In conclusion the latent and aesthetic content of the sculpture is discussed briefly."
