Description: Describes bombing near Hampstead studio which persuaded the Moores to return to stay with friends in Perry Green and eventually rent and then buy Hoglands. The gradual conversion of outbuildings into studios took place and gave Moore space for his subsequent exhibitions and commissions. The landscape settings were ideal for Moore's work in the Open Air, and a local farmer is allowed to graze his sheep on part of the property. The inspiration for much of the work came from natural forms, through drawings and more recently maquettes.
