A sparsely illustrated paperback chronicling the history of The London Group from the 1913 to 2013. The London Group was set up in 1913 to challenge the aesthetic restrictions of the Royal Academy, the New English Art Club and the traditional art establishment holding sway at the beginning of the 1910s. On page 94 there is reference to Moore's membership of the Seven and Five Society. On page 98 Moore's election to The London Group in 1930 is recorded. Page 99 mentions Moore serving on the group's Hanging Committee in the 1930s and refers to his asking price of £150.10s for Standing Girl 1926 (LH 34). On page 111 Moore's contribution to the Artist's International Association's 1930 exhibition 'Artists against Fascism and War' is noted. On page 114 there is reference to Moore being on the group's Working Committee. Page 118 mentions how Moore and Penrose visited Picasso in his studio in Paris in 1937 when Picasso was working on his painting Guernica. On page 160 there is an extract from the minutes of the group's committee meeting held on 30 September 1948 'H. du Plessis agreed to see Henry Moore in regard to his proposed resignation, which it is felt is only due to non-payment of subscriptions....'.There are further passing references to Moore on pages: 120; 125; 132; 133 - in relation to term 'neo-romantic'; 135, 146; 150 - with reference to the Council for Encouragement of Music and the Arts; 152; 164 in context of the Festival of Britain in 1951; 171; 176; and 394 - in an image of a list of members exhibiting at the New Burlington Gallery in 1949. The back cover lists the names of all 400 or so members of the group including Henry Moore.
